New Name.... Same People

As you can see by the title of the blog we've changed the church name.
This change has come about for several reasons.
The primary reason being that there are several other "Mision de la Gracia"'s in Argentina and throughout Latin America of varying faiths ranging from Catholic to Pentocostal. So in efforts to have a distinguished name and not confused with other confessions we've chosen a new identity.

By a congregational majority vote we've come to the name " Monte de Luz", which translated means something like, "Light on a Hill Church" taken from the passage in Matthew 5 that really describes our vision and mission as a church the best:

14 "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."

  2. love it and love ya'll. we had a "mission to greenville" trip this week with the high school students. one evening we discussed this passage from matt.5 and i think it went well. salt and light are such powerful images for our identity as christians in the world. And it's interesting that there is an individual light to be spread and a communal light, i.e. the light of the city on a hill and the single lamp in the house. Keep flavoring Carlos Paz with gospel living and refracting light with the truth. we love you!
